Youth arrested for killing minor cousin

Mumbai, Feb 14 (PTI) City police today arrested a20-year-old youth for allegedly murdering his minor cousinfollowing a quarrel with the victim''s father.

Nine-year-old Joginder Mali''s body was found in suburbanChembur last week.

"As part of investigation, we started questioning thevictim''s relatives. The accused Kapil Mali, the victim''scousin raised suspicions when he disappeared and refused toco-operate with the investigations," a police officer from RCFpolice station said.

Kapil was picked up on Saturday from his workplace andwas questioned. During interrogation, Kapil confessed to havekilled Joginder to take revenge from the victim''s father, withwhom he had an altercation.

"Last week, Kapil had gone to Joginder''s father andrequested for a pot of water. When he refused, Kapil got intoa quarrel. On February 5, the accused lured Joginder and tookhim to a secluded area and bashed him to death," police saidadding that Kapil has been booked for murder.
