ULFA leaders meet prime minister
New Delhi, Feb 14 (PTI) A delegation of ULFA leaders,led by its ''chairman'' Arabinda Rajkhowa, today met PrimeMinister Manmohan Singh, days after the group sat forunconditional talks with the government.
The ULFA leaders closeted with the prime minister forabout 15 minutes and are understood to have discussed aboutthe initiatives taken to bring a lasting peace in Assam.
Sources, however, described the meeting as a courtesycall by the ULFA leaders as Singh represents Assam in RajyaSabha.
On Thursday, the eight-member ULFA delegation met HomeMinister P Chidambaram and Home Secretary Gopal K Pillai andbegan the process of dialogue, after three decades ofinsurgency.
Chidambaram had said that the central and Assamgovernments would engage them in sincere and meaningful talksto find out a just and honourable solution.
