Ousted Egyptian President reported ailing

Cairo, Feb 15 (PTI) Ousted Egyptian President HosniMubarak is reportedly "ailing and bedridden" and cannot walkwithout help, local media reports confirming that the toppledleader was still in a holiday villa in the Red Sea resort ofSharm al-Sheikh.

Egyptian daily ''Al-Masry Al-Youm'' reported that soonafter moving to the resort, the 82-year-old Mubarak who ruledEgypt for 30 years was gravely ill and slipped into a coma.

But an pro-government newspaper denied the report butsaid the leader was in severe psychological condition and wasdeclining treatment.

Mubarak is staying at a villa in the grounds of theMaritim Jollie Ville Hotel, owned by one of the Egypt''sleading businessman, Hussein Sale, who is a close member ofthe ex-president''s inner circle.

The Egyptian President in month''s before the protestagainst him started had been in Germany for gall bladdertreatment.

Britain''s ''Daily Telegraph'' quoting witnesses at theresort said, that the former President may be suffering fromcancer.

It quoted Egypt''s Ambassador to Washington Sameh Shoukryas saying that he had been informed that the formerPresident''s health had taken a turn for a worse.
