London, Feb 15 (AFP) Usain Bolt could line up in the 2012Olympic 100 metres final on August 5, according to the LondonGames timetable revealed by the organising committee today.
The schedule give the date, time and venue for every oneof the 640 plus sessions across the 26 Olympic sports.
"There is a recognition now that the men''s 100m is apretty serious moment and we have planned that to be fairlyearly on the evening of Sunday, August 5," London Games chiefLord Sebastian Coe said.
"The things people remember are head-to-heads and wecould potentially have one of the best given that Tyson Gay isgoing to make this a really tough run for Usain Bolt."
The Jamaican world record holder could double up his goldhaul on August 9 in the 200m final.
The 100m final day, plus August 10 (men''s 4x400m relayfinal), and the August 11 last track and field day featuringthe men''s 4x100m final, are the only days where tickets hitthe 725-pound (1,160 dollars, 860-euro) high-water mark forevents.
In the pool, American swimming great Michael Phelps couldgo head to head with Australia''s Ian Thorpe in the 200mfreestyle final on July 30.
Thorpe won the 200m freestyle gold in the Athens 2004Olympics and retired before Beijing, when Phelps won themedal. Thorpe has announced a comeback targeting the LondonGames.
The women''s singles tennis title, held by Russia''s ElenaDementieva, will be disputed on Wimbledon Centre Court onAugust 4, while the men''s title, owned by Spain''s RafaelNadal, will be contested the following day.
The men''s football final will be held at Wembley onAugust 11. Argentina, featuring star forward Lionel Messi,beat Nigeria in the 2008 Beijing final.
