New Delhi, Feb 14 (PTI) Two youths were arrested innorth-west Delhi with the help of CCTV footages obtained froma tobacco shop which they looted, police said today.
The arrested have been identified as Shahzad (19) andMohd Azad Alam (28).
The duo along with two others on February four enteredthe shop in Saraswati Vihar''s Shrinagar Colony and decampedwith Rs 35,000 on gunpoint.
"The owner A N Gupta has installed CCTVs in his shopand due to that the whole incident was captured. Thephotographs were developed from the footage and dossiers ofnearly 500 criminals were shown to the victim," MeenuChowdhury, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West), said.
More than 150 criminals were checked and interrogated.
"When no result could be obtained, the CCTV recordingsof the last three days were also viewed and it was found thattwo of the accused have also visited the same shop about twohours before the incident and they had purchased gutkha fromthe shop.
"Those pictures of the criminal were also developedand again intensive search was made and photographs were shownto the shops and identity of one of the accused wasestablished in this process," Chowdhury said.
Shahzad was the first to be arrested followed by Alam.
Other four accused Sarafraz, Arif, Mohd Naiem andSardar are still at large.
