Select base metals firm up on global cues

Mumbai, Feb 14 (PTI) Nickel, copper, brass and aluminiumstrengthened at the non-ferrous metal market here today due tohectic stockist buying on the back of rising trend in LondonMetal Exchange (LME).

However, tin and copper sheet cutting declined on subduedindustrial demand.

Nickel spurted by Rs 11 per kilo to Rs 1,378 from lastSaturday''s closing level of Rs 1,367 and brass sheet cuttingrose by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 326 as against Rs 321 previously.

Copper utensils scrap firmed up by Rs 4 per kilo to Rs426 from Rs 422.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire barand brass utensils scrap all edged up by Rs 2 per kilo eachto Rs 477, Rs 467, Rs 505, and Rs 315 respectively.

Copper armiture and aluminium utensils scrap inched up bya rupee per kilo each to Rs 455 and Rs 107.

However, Tin fell by Rs 20 per kilo to Rs 1,670 fromlast weekend''s level of Rs 1,690 and copper sheet cuttinginched down by a rupee per kilo to Rs 447 from Rs 448.
