Nitish urges Mamata for sufficient funds for Bihar projects

Patna, Feb 14 (PTI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumartoday urged Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee to ensureallocation of sufficient funds for implementation of all therail projects in the state.

"I urge and expect that Mamataji will do the justice andmake necessary allocation of funds in the railway budget for2011-12 for completion of all the rail projects in Bihar",Kumar told reporters on the sidelines of his +JanataDarbar Programme.+

Hoping that steps would be taken for completing theconstruction of a railway project at Marhaura in Sarandistrict, besides construction of road-cum-bridge over riverGanga between Digha and Sonepur and another rail bridge inSheikhpur.

He said that the Digha-Sonepur rail bridge which wasearler planned to be constructed by 2009, was yet to becompleted.

Kumar also said immediate steps were required to be takenfor removing the technical snag in rail bridge at Mokama, avital link to connect the people of North and South Bihar.

He expressed serious concern over alleged inordinatedelay being made by railways in handing over the land to thestate government following closure of the railway line betweenPatna and Digha.
