Jammu, Feb 13 (PTI) To provide better market access tofarmers, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided toestablish marketing facilities at every tehsil headquartersacross the state.
"The government is establishing marketing facilitiesat tehsil headquarters for the facilities of farmers as theirlocal products will be procured by the government from theirdoorstep," state Minister for Horticulture and Floriculture,Sham Lal Sharma said today.
Sharma said, the region has high potential foragriculture, horticulture, floriculture, poultry farming,fisheries and animal husbandry, and appealed to the youth toparticipate in these sectors.
"The youth should take up the plantation of cash cropslike aloe-vera and marigold flowers. The government providessubsidy of Rs 2,200 per kanal on the aloe-vera crop," saidSharma.
