Congress says it has strength to face no-trust motion in AP
Hyderabad, Feb 14 (PTI) The ruling Congress in AndhraPradesh has the strength to face the no-confidence motionproposed to be moved by the TRS, the party''s state unit saidtoday.
"I doubt if it (no-confidence motion) will be acceptedat all. We have the strength to prove majority," AndhraPradesh Congress President D Srinivas said told reportershere.
He was replying to questions about the TRS'' decisionto move a no-confidence motion against the Government in thebudget session of the Assembly beginning on February 17.
Asked about the decision of the Telangana politicalJoint Action Committee (JAC), that also comprises Governmentemployees, to start a non-cooperation agitation from February17, Srinivas said the Government was holding discussions withthe staff.
Seeking to corner TDP, TRS has said it will move ano-confidence motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy Governmentin the budget session and asked the main Opposition party tosupport it in the same.
The TRS decision has come in the wake of a war ofwords between TDP and TRS. The TDP has alleged that the TRS isnot sincere in achieving separate Telangana, and had aclandestine understanding with the Congress.
"We will move a no-confidence motion against theCongress Government. If TDP is sincere in fighting againstCongress, it should support us," TRS President K ChandrasekharRao has said.
