CID arrests two persons in Netai massacre case
Kolkata, Feb 14 (PTI) Barely 48 hours after the CIDannounced awards for infromation on the whereabouts of theaccused in the Netai carnage, the investigating agency made abreakthrough today by arresting two persons from WestMidnapore district.
CID ADG Raj Kanojia said Ashwini Chalak and Abani Singhhad been arrested from West Midnapore district this morningfor having complicity in the killing of nine people on January7 at Netai village near lalgarh.
Ashwini and Abani, the former a CPI-M member of theLalgarh local committee and another an ordinary member of theparty, along with four others were the main accused in thekillings.
The four others accused in the case are CPI-M''s LalgarhLocal committee secretary Joydeb Giri, Zonal Committee memberFullora Mondal, owner of the house Rathin Dandapat and TapanDey.
On Saturday the CID had announced Rs 50,000 cash award toanybody providing information on the six accused.
