Hyderabad, Feb 13 (PTI)The Rachabanda Programme(Village Junction) launched by the Andhra Pradesh governmenton January 24 seeking to reach out to people across the statecompleted on Saturday with good success.
The programme saw participation by Union Ministers, Stateministers, MPs, MLAs, District Collectors besides the ChiefMinister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who together disbursed benefitsunder various government schemes to lakhs of people, anofficial press note said.
The Chief Minister covered various parts of the statebetween January 24 and February 10. His scheduled visits toKadapa and Nellore on February 11 and 12 had to be cancelleddue to the model of conduct which came into force on accountof MLC polls in these districts, the release said.Giving details, the release said that during the courseof the rachbanda programme in all 4.59 lakh temporary rationcards were issued, 1.31 lakh pensions were sanctioned, 2.96lakh women were brought under the Abhayashastham scheme acrossthe state.
Besides 2.64 lakh beneficiaries were issued sanctionletters and 1.73 lakh beneficiaries were issuedpatta/Possession certificates for housing.
There were 3 lakh Arogyasri cards and 1.79 lakh jobcards issued afresh under the NREGA scheme.
As far as financial sanctions are concerned, Rs 283crore were disbursed under Pavala vaddi (Rural) and Rs 75.23crore under Pavala vaddi (Urban) to 1,38,663 SHG groups, therelease said.
