Ahmedabad, Feb 12 (PTI) Congress MPs in Gujarat todayboycotted the meeting called by the state government todiscuss pending issues with the Centre.
Congress MPs of both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabhafrom the state skipped the meeting at which Gujarat ChiefMinister Narendra Modi was present.
The meetings of state MPs are routine and held beforeevery session of Parliament and this was for the second timein a row that the Congress MPs boycotted the meeting.
"Our MPs are boycotting the meeting as such meetingshave turned out to be central government bashing event forpublicity by the ruling BJP government here," Congressspokesman Manish Doshi said.
"In the earlier meetings the government had refused todiscuss the issues of Central Ministry pending with the stategovernment like allocation of land for the railways and otherdepartments for their expansion plans," Doshi alleged.
Three Congress MPs -Dinsha Patel, Tushar Chaudhary andBharat Solanki- are Ministers in the central government.
The BJP has slammed the Congress for not attending themeeting. "The boycott of a meeting called to discuss pendingdevelopment issues of the state shows that the Congress isnot interested in the progress of Gujarat," BJP MP andspokesperson Vijay Rupani said. .
