BJP to go by court decision on denotification of land: Gadkari

New Delhi, Feb 12 (PTI) Amid growing attacks on B SYeddyurappa over the issue of alleged land scams, BJP todaysaid it would go by the court''s decision on the controversialmatter of denotification of land by the Karnataka ChiefMinister.

"It is the privilege and right of the Chief Ministerto denotify the land. Now the matter is in the court. Let thecourt decide," BJP President Nitin Gadkari told reportershere.

Gadkari''s comment is significant as it comes againstthe backdrop of demands by BJP''s detractors for Yeddyurappa''sremoval and the issue being used to counter attacks by theparty on Congress over various scams.

In reply to a question as to what action the BJP wastaking on the issue of corruption in Karnataka, Gadkari said"denotification of land is the only issue. Under that lawthree previous Chief Ministers have denotified land threetimes more than what was done now. That law was passed by theKarnataka Assembly."

Yeddyurappa had sought to take the battle to hisdetractors'' court yesterday by announcing plans to bringout a "charge sheet" against JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda andhis family members on the issue of land scams.

Unfazed by the opposition campaign for his removal,Yeddyurappa had declared that his government is going to lasta full five-year term and central leaders of the BJP were"happy about my performance".

"I want to publish a charge sheet against Deve Gowdaand his family members before Parliament session. So manyillegal transactions have taken place, especially land scams.

Let them discuss it in Parliament," Yeddyurappa had toldreporters here.
