Gurgaon, Feb 11 (PTI) Arshad Ali brought home of thefirst and only sub-par round of the tournament to sneak aheadof the early leaders to win the Haryana Open at the GoldenGreens on Friday.
Arshad, 18, is the son of Indian professional Pappan ofDelhi Golf Club.
He indicated his huge potential with seven birdies, fourof them on the front nine, and despite six bogeys he stayedunder par to total nine-over 297 and win by two shots overSurya Jai Prakash of RCGC, who dropped with a 76 on final dayto total 299.
Surya was three shots clear of Arshad, overnight.
Arshad started the final day in third place five behindleader Abhishek Kuhar (79), who slipped to third at 12-over300.
Rakesh Kumar (76) was fourth at 304 and Md Wazir (72)with the second best card of the final day moved from ninth tofifth at 308.
The top-32 players qualified for the IGU''s NCR Cup andthe top-50 made it to the Northern India Amateur, one of themajor events on the IGU Amateur calendar.
