New York, Feb 12 (ANI): An adult film company that was filming a porn movie in a public park near Miami Beach has sparked outrage amongst city officials.
Called 'Island Adventure' and produced by RealityKings.com, the film was being shot in broad daylight on Monument Island and used a 110-foot obelisk as the backdrop, the Miami Herald reported.
"This is not an uninhabited island miles off the coast," the New York Daily News quoted Assistant City Manager Hilda Fernandez as telling the Herald.
"It's in the middle of a very busy bay. You can't go filming pornos in public parks."
he monument that appears in the movie is the Flagler Memorial, dedicated to oil baron Henry Flagler, who's credited with helping develop South Florida.
"They should not be desecrating that island. It's hallowed ground," said Area historian Seth Bramson.
However, Lawrence Walters, a lawyer for the film company, insists that there was nothing wrong in shooting at the location.
"It was apparently produced on a deserted island with no people around to witness the filming," Walters said.
The official in charge of approving film permits for Miami Beach, Graham Winick, however, disagreed.
"I can say without even looking in my files that we did not permit that," said Winick. (ANI)
