Thomas had opposed Devas spectrum deal
Thomas, is reported to have cited TRAI recommendations that suggested that spectrum in the frequency proposed for use by Devas should be auctioned.
He had also expressed reservations about the spectrum meant for the department of space to be used for commercial application, as proposed by Devas. He recommended consultations with the I&B ministry to maintain a level-playing field with the already privatised FM radio sector.
Thomas, who is being targeted by the opposition parties, for his appointment as CVC despite questions over his alleged role in the 2G spectrum allocation scandal, has all along been maintaining that his integrity should not be questioned.
