Naidu asks Mumbai BJP to gear up for BMC polls
Mumbai, Feb 12 (PTI) BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu todayasked the Mumbai party unit to gear up for the civic electionswhich are due next year, saying a massive dooor-to-door''campaign should be launched to woo voters.
"We have decided to launch a jansampark abhiyan'' fromMarch 1 to 14 as part of our preparations for the BMCelections," BJP city unit president Raj Purohit told PTI afterNaidu addressed a meeting of party workers at Uttan inneighbouring Thane district.
"Naidu has asked us to prepare from the grassroots andhighlight issues like water supply, sanitation, slums andtraffic congestion," Purohit said.
On March 14, a mafia sarkar hatao'' morcha would betaken out by BJP to Vidhan Bhawan to demand dismissal of theCongress-NCP government in Maharashtra, Purohit said.
The two-day meeting at Uttan deliberated on thepolitical strategy for BMC Elections, organisational work aswell as issues concerning Mumbai, he said.
