Cong will get absolute majority in 2012 Assembly polls:Beni

Barabanki (UP), Feb 12 (PTI) Congress will get anabsolute majority in 2012 Assembly polls to be held in UttarPradesh, Union Minister for Steel (independent charge) BeniPrasad Verma said here.

"The coming 2012 UP Assembly polls will show strengthof Congress, which will be getting an absolute majority,"Verma said while addressing a gathering on his 71th birthdayin his home town last evening.

He also lashed out at his former companion SP supremoMulayam Singh Yadav for promoting nepotism.

"SP supremo Mulayam is practising nepotism and all thekey posts in the party were there in his family," Vermaalleged.

Stating that it was difficult to leave Mulayam, withwhom he had 40-years-old association, Beni said he was happythat he left SP otherwise he might not be celebrating hisbirthday.

"Had I not left SP, you would have attendingcondolence meeting instead of celebrating my birthday," Benisaid asking the people not to make Mulayam Singh Yadav as theChief Minister of the state again.

He alleged that the development council formed byYadav, did nothing expect spending money on refreshments andpaying bills of planes used for "importing" bollywood artists.

Taking a potshot on BSP, he said that there was a timewhen it was difficult to find corrupt ministers and now it wasdifficult to find an honest one.

Claiming that the BJP was not existent in the region,Beni said that the saffron party was trying hard to make itspresence felt but the people had now understood its reality.
