Close surveillance on real estate prices in Bihar: Nitish
Patna, Feb 12 (PTI) Noting that real estate pricesin Bihar had touched the level of Gurgaon in Haryana, ChiefMinister Nitish Kumar today said the state government waskeeping a close surveillance on the price spiral.
"People now claim that the real estate prices havetouched the level of those of Gurgaon in Haryana and it isalso being apprehended that huge money earned through corruptmeans is being invested in purchase of plots, houses andflats", Kumar said while addressing a function organised bythe state social welfare department.
"The state government is keeping a close watch on theskyrocketing prices of real estate and taking necessarysteps", he said, adding "we have also tasked a secretary-levelofficer with the responsibility".
"We are also examining whether the real estate pricerise in Bihar is fake or under a design and whether the moneyhas not come from here and there", the Chief Minister said.
Claiming that the law and order situation hadregistered a marked improvement in Bihar during the past overfive years, he said there might be people who had earliermigrated, were now returning to their base.
Kumar said corruption would not be tolerated and"our battle against the disease will continue till we finishfrom the roots".
