Garhwa (Jharkhand), Feb 12(ANI): A flower cultivator in Jharkhand's Garhwa district has come up with many flower varieties in his garden, giving new dimensions to floriculture in the state.
Brijesh Tiwari, a floriculturist, has planted hundreds of varieties of rare, common and seasonal flowers, including nine kinds of dahlia and 20 of roses.
Tiwari's efforts and the booming income he gets from his flowers has also influenced many others in the area to take to floriculture, making it a thriving cottage industry. This is a business which requires less investment, but is very benefiting and also gives happiness to the mind. These days, the demand for flowers is also increasing," Tiwari said.
He also called for more financial help from the government's side to attract more people towards the business.
Tiwari was earlier honoured with many awards by the state government for his work.
"I received the first prize for Garhwa district on January 24 last year in an exhibition, and I even got the second prize in another event. Then Birsa Agricultural University on March 7, 2010, honoured me. After that I was given this polyhouse by the state agriculture department," Tiwari said. (ANI)
