Include Karunanidhi and family as co-accused in 2G case: Jaya
Chennai, Feb 11 (PTI) AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa todaydemanded that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and hisfamily members be included as co-accused in the 2G spectrumallocation case to unearth the "whole truth" behind the scam.
"Only then will the interests of justice be served,"Jayalalithaa said in a statement here as she stepped up attackon the scam, targeting her political rival and DMK presidentKarunanidhi.
"It is an exhibition of scientific corruption that onesees as the 2G spectrum scam investigation unfolds," she saidreferring to transfer of funds by some companies owned by AsifBalwa, arrested in connection with the scam.
She alleged that former Telecom minister A Raja had soldvaluable 2G spectrum to Swan Telecom, a new company launchedby Dynamix Balwa, at a throwaway price of Rs 1,537 crore. TheMumbai-based real estate company then sold 45 per cent of itsholdings to the UAE-based Etisalat for Rs 4,200 crore.
Jayalalithaa claimed that the balance sheet for 2009-10of Cineyug Films, owned by Balwa and Morani, showed that anunsecured loan of Rs 206 crore was given to Chennai-basedKalaignar TV, in which Karunanidhi''s wife Dayalu and hisdaughter Kanimozhi jointly hold 80 per cent stake.
