New Delhi, Feb 11 (PTI) Ahead of the budget session ofParliament, Congress media managers today held deliberationson how to project the party''s image in a better way in publicas the opposition braces to attack the ruling combine on theissue of corruption.
The meeting chaired by AICC general secretary and mediadepartment chief Janardan Dwivedi was attended among others byMinister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ashwini Kumar,party spokespersons Manish Tewari, Rajiv Shukla, Mohan Prakashand senior party leader Girija Vyas.
However, a large number of the 19-member media panel topresent party views on television channels, could not make itto the meeting.
Party leaders remained tight-lipped on what transpired inthe meeting. Shukla termed it an "internal meeting".
However, an indication was evident that the party couldfocus on the issue of Karnataka to turn the tables on BJP onthe issue of corruption.
"They should answer to this issue of corruption inKarnataka first. We will keep on asking the question. ChiefMinister B S Yeddyurappa''s corruption has been proved from allcorners...he is the most corrupt Chief Minister in thecountry. First they should remove him," Shukla told reportersafter the meeting.
He was replying to questions on how the party willrespond to BJP''s attack on the government on the issue ofcorruption including 2G Spectrum scam in which former TelecomMinister A Raja was arrested.
To a question whether the meeting discussed on how tojustify constitution of JPC into the issue, Ashwini Kumarsaid, "Whether JPC will be formed or not, you will come toknow of it in future.
"But we are definitely hopeful towards ending thisdeadlock (between the government and the opposition onconstituting JPC to probe 2G Spectrum scam). I am hopeful thatthe Parliament will function in the budget session." PTI AMR
