BJP wants govt to bring motion for formation of JPC on Feb 22
New Delhi, Feb 11 (PTI) BJP today asked the governmentto bring the motion for the formation of a joint parliamentarycommittee (JPC) on February 22 and said it would not boycottthe Presidential address to both Houses of Parliament.
"We would expect the government to bring a motion forthe formation of JPC (to probe the 2G scam) on February 22. Wehave already informed the Government about our demand," Leaderof Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj told reporters here.
In reply to a question, Swaraj said her party will notboycott the address of President Pratibha Patil to both Housesof Parliament on February 21 when the Budget Session begins.
"We will certainly attend that," she said.
Asked as to what would be the oppositions'' plan if thegovernment fails to bring a motion for formation of JPC onFebruary 22, Swaraj said, "The NDA floor leaders will meet anddecide on the future strategy".
When asked whether the BJP would boycott the UnionBudget on February 28, she said, "It is still far away. Wewill decide on our plans after February 22." PTI NAB SGI
