On Thursday, Feb 10, the gadgets' market were flooded with rumors regarding the launch of a new iPad 3. The rumors first appeared on John Gruber's website, Daring Fireball, where Mr. Gruber posted that that Apple is preparing to launch the iPad 3 during the fall of 2011. The third generation iPad is expected to hit the market in Sep 2011, during the holiday season.
John Gruber said that, "Summer feels like a long time away. If my theory is right, they"re not only going to be months behind the iPad 2, but if they slip until late summer, they might bump up against the release of the iPad 3. And not only did they announce this with a distant ship date, they did it with no word on pricing."
We had earlier reported a story form the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) about the production of Apple iPad 2. This report highlighted that the second generation iPad is in the production stage and will hit the market by Mar or Apr 2011. The WSJ story revealed that Apple had said that, “The new iPad will be thinner and lighter than the first model, these people said. It will have at least one camera on the front of the device for features like video-conferencing, but the resolution of the display will be similar to the first iPad, these people said. It will also have more memory and a more powerful graphics processor."
According to the WSJ report, the iPad 2 will boast of a screen size of 9.7-inch, which is similar to the current iPad. However, we can expect the iPad 3 to feature a seven inch screen. Let us hope that additional specifications and features of the iPad 3 will soon be revealed to the consumers. Stay tuned to get more news about the iPad 2 and obviously, the iPad 3.
