Motocross event for two, four wheelers

Mumbai, Feb 10 (PTI) Top racers from Maharashtra are setto take part in the motocross for four and two wheelers at theSomaiya grounds (Sion) in Mumbai on February 20.

The event is to be conducted jointly by the Rotary Clubof Deonar and Sportscraft, under the aegis of the Indianmototsports body FMSCI, it was announced at a press conferencehere.

One of the main aims of conducting the event is to raisemoney for charitable purposes which the Rotary club supports.

"We aim to raise Rs 25 lakh from the event", said theclub''s president Rajendra Datye.

Karani, a veteran motorsports administrator and marshall,said that it would be the 307th event conducted bySportscraft.

"This is our 307th event. Motocross is a precision eventand will have five events for two wheelers and ten for cars,including two for the women who can also participate in theopen events.

"We are expecting all the leading riders and drivers fromThane, Pune, Nashik and Mumbai to take part," he added. PTISSR VKV AH
