JK govt bans sale and purchase of army uniform in Kupwara
Srinagar, Feb 10 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir governmenthas imposed a ban on sale and purchase of camouflage Armyuniforms.
The use of "service uniforms" by civilians in Valley''sfrontier district of Kupwara has been banned by DistrictMagistrate, Kupwara, Mohammad Shafi Rather, an officialspokesman said today.
Tehsildars and SHOs have been directed to conductfrequent checks in their respective jurisdiction and seize thecombat pattern cloth and ready made dresses of Army pattern,the spokesman said.
The officials have been directed to keep the seizedcloth and dresses, if any, in police custody after maintainingthe proper records.
Kupwara is one of the three districts of KashmirValley which lies along the Line of Control and is one of themost preferred infiltration route by militants fromPakistan-occupied Kashmir.
