Maya suspends engineer, raps senior officials during UP tour
Kanpur, Feb 8 (PTI) A PWD executive engineer has beensuspended and several other senior officials were pulled up byChief Minister Mayawati on charges of delayed developmentalwork and poor law and order situation in their districts,during her visit across the state.
Not satisfied with the pace of work during her visitto Bilhaur tehsil, Mayawati ordered immediate suspension anddemotion of PWD Executive Engineer R P Singh.
She ordered inquiry into the performance of Jhansi SDMMuthuswami and his predecessor during her visit to Ghatampurtehsil.
She pulled up Kanpur district commissioner Amit Ghoshfor his alleged laxity in solving the people''s grievances.
When she reached Kanpur police station, she pulled upsenior officials for rising cases of crimes against women hereand said their performance should improve in a month.
The Chief Minister slammed the vice president ofKanpur Development Authority for incomplete houses underKanshiram Housing Scheme in Sajari area and gave him a month''stime to complete the work.
