Car bomb blast leaves six dead in Iraq
According to Reuters, two of the explosions were aimed at the police. This comes latest in a series of attacks on police and soldiers by insurgents. Police and hospital sources informed that six people were killed and 75 wounded in the blasts, said the report.
Kirkuk, a city rich in oil-reserves is a major bone of contention between the Kurdistan Regional Government and Iraq's central government.
There has been a sudden spurt in violence as the US forces prepare to leave the war-torn country towards the end of 2011.
