Security guard at builder''s office shot dead by assailants

Mumbai, Feb 8 (PTI) Two unidentified men barged into theoffice of a city-based builder today and shot dead a securityguard.

The two men, about 25 years old, entered businessmanManish Dolakiya''s office in Sharda Chambers in south Mumbai ataround 3.45 pm. They told the receptionist that they wanted tomeet Dolakiya.

However, the receptionist raised an alarm after she saw agun one of them had. The men fled and shot at the guard AjitAroonkar when he chased them. Aroonkar died in the hospital,the police said.

The police also said that they found the country-madepistol, from which the guard was fired at, at the spot.

They also recovered the shirt of one of the assailantswho had removed it and thrown it while fleeing.

"The police sniffer dog led us to the platform no. 2 ofthe Churchgate station", a police official said.

Chering Dorjee, Deputy Commissioner of Police, saidDolikya had not complained of any threat calls.
