Quake recorded at Seoni in MP
Bhopal, Feb 8 (PTI) An earthquake measuring 3.5 on theRichter scale today hit areas in and around Seoni district ineastern Madhya Pradesh, a Seismic Observatory official said.
There was no report of any damage caused to life orproperty due to the tremors in Seoni, about 65 km away fromJabalpur.
The epicentre of the earthquake was at Lakhnadon inSeoni district, Jabalpur based Broad Band Seismic Observatory,Geological Survey of India, Senior Geophysicist Sagina Ramtold PTI over phone.
He said that the magnitude of the quake was 3.5 addingthat the jolts lasted for nearly 110 seconds.
The quake hit the area at 12.53.17, he said.
An earthquake of similar magnitude had hit areas in andaround Ratnagiri in Maharashtra two days ago.
