Assembly stalled for the sixth day today
Guwahati, Feb 7 (PTI) Proceedings in the Assamassembly were stalled for the sixth consecutive day today asan adamant opposition led by AGP persisting with its demand toinclude all departments of the North Cachar Hills AutonomousCouncil indicted in multi-crore scam under CBI probe.
As soon as the house assembled, Leader of theOpposition and former chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahantaraised the demand and called for dropping of the "tainted"ministers.
With the ruling party members objecting to theOpposition demand, chaos prevailed and nothing was heard inthe din.
Speaker Tanka Bahadur Rai urged members to cooperatein running the house but as pandemonium prevailed he adjournedthe house for the day.
