Slogan shouting protesters greet ICC team

Kolkata, Feb 7 (PTI) A small group of protesters wavingblack flags and shouting slogans gathered outside the EdenGardens today during the ICC inspectors'' three-hour visit tothe venue.

The 20-odd protesters shouted slogans alleging conspiracyagainst the Cricket Association of Bengal. "Go back ICCofficials...", they shouted waving black flags.

"We hate cricket conspiracy against CAB Kolkata ... WhyWorld Cup cricket match (of India v England) was shifted toBangalore?" a placard said.

Anjan Mag, the general secretary of Maidan Sports WelfareAssociation, which staged the protest-demonstration, allegedthat the ICC was intentionally dissatisfied with the historicvenue.

"It''s a conspiracy against CAB. Why ignore cricket loversof Bengal? For and on behalf of millions of cricket lovers ofBengal, we strongly demand the World Cup match (between Indiav England) should come back to the Eden at any cost," Nagsaid.
