Koraput (Orissa), Feb 6 (PTI) After a lull of about sixmonths Chasi Muliya Adivasi Sangha (CMAS), a Maoist-backedpeasant organization, took out a procession at Narayanpatna inOrissa''s Koraput district today demanding withdrawal of BSFcamps from the area.
Around 3,000 CMAS activists along with panchayatfunctionaries comprising sarpanchs and ward members fromNarayanpatna block participated in the procession andsubmitted a memorandum to the block development officer.
Release of all CMAS activists presently lodged inKoraput jail and developmental work in interior pockets of theblock were among the other demands listed in the memorandum.
�The rally was peaceful and no untoward incident hasbeen reported. Additional forces were deployed and elaboratesecurity arrangements were made for the rally,� said DSP(Laxmipur) Y Jagannath Rao.
