Musharraf accused of Bhutto-murder, shoe-d
In an interim chargesheet filed by prosecutors in an anti-terrorism court conducting the trial of suspects charged with involvement in assassination of ex-premier Benazir Bhutto, Musharraf has been accused.
Musharraf, who has been living in self-exile in Britain since early 2009, has been blamed for the murder after failing to take adequate steps to provide security to the former premier.
Bhutto was killed by a suicide attacker in Rawalpindi in Dec 2007 during an election rally in Rawalpindi. Musharraf was the then President of Pakistan. He stepped down from his position in 2008 and left Pakistan. He now lives in London.
In another instance, a man threw a shoe on Musharraf when he was in a meeting in London, Feb 6. The shoe however landed in the front rows and didn't reach the stage.
As Geo News reported, the attacker raised slogans in favour of Afia Siddiqui, who is presently in US detention. Siddiqui, a US-educated Pakistani woman, has been found guilty of trying to kill American servicemen in Afghanistan.
