Police officials said that Deepak, a resident of Sector 7 RK Puram, tried to hug and kiss the victim at around 1.00 AM when she was waiting for her cab near Satya Niketan bus stand on Ring Road. Police officials near to the sport heard her cries and rushed to the spot and nabbed the accused in a soaked condition.
"The victim works with Gurgaon based call centre and lives in a rented accommodation in the area. Like every other day, she was waiting for her office cab when the accused, who was in an soaked condition, reached there. Finding her alone, he allegedly hugged and kissed her. The victim ran away, shouting for help," a police official said.
Dhaula Kuan police filed an FIR number 27 under section 509 (outraging modesty of a woman) against the accused.
This sexual abuse incident happened just two month after the Delhi police issued an order for all office cabs to pick up and drop women staff at their doorstep. Recent series of gangrapes in Delhi and surrounding places have triggered agitation against the Delhi government for poor security for women employees, who are working in night shifts.
