BJP demands resignation of three more ministers

Bhubaneswar, Feb 6 (PTI) A day after ruling BJD''s womenwing chief Pramila Mallik resigned from Naveen Patnaik cabinetover multi-crore Dal scam, opposition BJP today demandedresignation of three other ministers accusing them of beinginvolved in other irregularities.

"We demand resignation of Urban Development MinisterBadri Narayan Patra, School and Mass Education Minister PratapJena and Steel and Mines Minister, Raghunath Mohanty," saidBJP''s state President Jual Oram.

While Patra and Jena were accused of being part of thecoal scam over which the entire third session of the 14thassembly remained paralaysed, Mohanty''s name was being takenby opposition parties over the mining scam.

In both the cases, state vigilance was probing theallegations.

Maiontaining that BJP was not satisfied with Mallik''sresignation, Oram said "Naveen Patnaik should learn from thedalit woman leader (Pramila) and take moral responsibility."

Terming Mallik''s resignation as "too little", mainopposition Congress demanded criminal cases against all thoseinvolved in the ''Dal'' scam.

"Resignation or trasnfer of officers is not sufficient.

The people who have fed children and pregnant women withpoisonous and infected food must pay a heavy price. Who willbe responsible for the adverse impact on the health ofchildren and women due to rotten pulses," OPCC workingpresident L B Mohapatra asked.
