Rourkela, Feb 6 (PTI) Tata Football Academy (TFA),Jamshedpur lifted the Biju Patnaik Memorial FootbalChampionship trophy defeating Sonali Shibir of Kolkata 5-1 inthe final at Ispat stadium here today.
TFA completely dominated the game right from thebeginning with their superb technique and team game.
In the very first minute R Mithai scored the firstgoal for TFA while Rabindra Singh and Simarjeet Singh scoredthe second and third goals in the 20th and 44th minutesrespectively.
R Mallick of Sonali reduced the margin by scoring agoal through a long kick at the 45th minute. At the half timeTFA led by 3-1.
In the second half, A George scored the fourth goalwhile R Mithai essayed the fifth one.
Two red cards were shown to R Singh of TFA and D Dasof Sonali in the 23rd minute for foul play followed byquarrel.
R Mithai of TFA was adjudged man of the match whileSimarjeet Singh of the same team was adjudged man of thetournament.
Sports Hostel, Cuttack was given the prize for bestdisciplined team.
Altogether 10 teams from different parts of thecounrty participated in the tournament organised by RourkelaSport asoociation.
