Sandhu''s team wins PGTI Pro-Am event

Kolkata, Feb 6 (PTI) Chandigarh''s Ajeetesh Sandhu and histeam won the Pro-Am event of the PGTI Players Championships atRoyal Calcutta Golf Club here today.

Chandigarh-based Sandhu led his team to victory with ascore of 55.7. His team won on the basis of a count-back ofthe last six holes. His team had amateurs Atul Almal, N Poddarand Abhay Pasari.

Raju Ali Mollah''s team also posted a score of 55.7 butfinished second on the basis of the count-back on the last sixholes. Raju''s team had amateurs A Mohunta, Deven Shah and ArupMookerjee.

The Pro-Am was played in the team scramble format wherethe team''s best ball was chosen on every shot including theputting green.

After the best ball was chosen all other players were toplace their ball within one score card length beforecontinuing play.

The prize for the straightest drive on hole number 16went to Ravi S Kataruka. His drive landed one feet and threeinches from the centre of the fairway.
