Police raids several places in search of absconding MLA

Hazaribagh(Jharkhand), Feb 5 (PTI) The police carried outraids at several places but failed to find abscondingBarkagaon MLA Yogendra Sahu, who had allegedly assaulted theBlock Development Officer of Kedredari, a senior policeofficer said today.

Superintendent of Police Pankaj Kamboj said the policeraided many places in Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Ramgarh and Keredarito find the absconding MLA after the BDO of Kederdari, RajBallav Singh filed an FIR alleging that Sahu and hissupporters had beaten him up at Keredari chowk yesterday afterdragging him out of his car.

The SP said that the allegations levelled by the BDOagainst the MLA were grave and the police is making allefforts to arrest the accused MLA who is still absconding.

Meanwhile, the Hazaribagh District Unit of the JHASHAcriticized the Barkagaon MLA for his action and demanded thatJHASA officials be given proper security during the officehours so that the officials feel secured during duty hours.

They also demanded immediate arrest of the MLA.
