Itanagar, Feb 06 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief MinisterDorjee Khandu has exhorted the people to create a ''congenial''atmosphere and imbibe a ''hospitable approach'' towards touristsso that more visitors make a beeline to the state and exploreit.
"Apart from natural beauty, vibrant ethniccommunities and rich bio-diversity, Arunachal Pradesh hasample scope to promote eco-tourism and research works for theinterested people worldwide," Khandu said after inauguratingthe three-day sixth Namdapha Eco Cultural Festival at Miao inChanglang district yesterday.
The chief minister also appealed to the hoteliers toensure hygienic accommodation for the tourists and directedthe district administrations to fix a uniform rate for hotelsand taxis for the convenience of tourists.
Highlighting the ''achievements'' since he took overthe reins in 2007, Khandu said though developments are visiblebut the state has miles to go with the Centre willing toextend all possible help.
Roads, air connectivity and infrastructure would putthe state on fast track of development, he said terminghydropower as the backbone of state economy.
"The task is Herculean but the support of allsections is essential to achieve the goal.
"Hard work and accountability is the only mantra toensure all round development of the state," asserted Khandu.
"Development funds are pouring in but proper andjudicious execution of works is the need of hour," he saidwhile appealing to the local legislators to ensure that allprojects are implemented in letter and spirit so that thefruits of development reach the needy.
Khandu also appealed to the misguided youths of thedistrict to join the mainland by shedding off all the socialevils, and asked them to avail of the rehabilitation packagesmeant for them, sources added.
