Buddhadeb blames UPA for price rise
Malda (WB), Feb 5 (PTI) Holding the Congress-led UPAgovernment for price rise of essential commodities, WestBengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today said theCPI-M will hold a protest meeting in Delhi when the Parliamentsession begins later this month.
"Protest will be held in Delhi when the Parliament opens.
We have to tell the government that we will not allow this,"he told a public rally here.
Describing price rise as the "biggest problem" beingfaced by the people, the CPI-M leader said, "Food inflationhas crossed 17 per cent. They (the Centre) have failed toexplain why the prices have shot up."
Bhattacharjee said despite the Left''s suggestion, theunion government refused to supply 14 essential commodities inration supplies citing huge expenditure.
"Pranab Mukherjee has argued it cannot be given as itwill involve huge expenditure," he said, adding, "Subsidiesare given to the big industry and not to the poor."
On the railway projects announced for the state byRailway Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee,Bhattacharjee claimed, "Nothing will take place. There is nofund." PTI SUN
