Six arrested for stealing transformers
New Delhi, Feb 5 (PTI) Six persons who allegedly posedas officials of a private discom and stole transformers werearrested in the Capital, police said today.
The arrested have been identified as Santosh Sharma,Vipin, Dharamvir, Amar Singh, Pramod Kumar and Pappu.
They were arrested from Sangam Vihar on Thursdayfollowing investigations into complaints of theft from BSES.
"They told us that they are contractors andelectricians of BSES. As they could not produce any documents,they were interrogated at length and enquiries were made fromBSES during which the fraud was detected," H G S Dhaliwal,Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), said.
During the interrogation, Dhaliwal claimed, Amar Singhhas earlier worked as BSES contractor and Pramod hadworked under such contractors.
"The crane and truck are also being used by BSES forwork as a result nobody used to doubt that they are carryingstolen transformer of BSES," he said.
A stolen transformer was recovered from them.
