Mumbai, Feb 4 (PTI) Over two years after the busyChhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) witnessed bloodbath during26/11 carnage, police guarding railway stations that are onterror groups'' radar have received only eight bullet-proofjackets as against the requirement of 220 vests.
This was disclosed by Police Commissioner (GovernmentRailway Police) Tukaram Chavan while giving details of annual"crime sheet" under railway jurisdiction today.
"Following the Mumbai terror attacks, the governmentdecided to give us bullet-proof jackets. We requested for 220jackets, but so far we have received just eight," he said.
The delay in procurement is because formalities aretaking a long time for completion, Chavan said.
"We hope to receive more jackets very soon."
