Haryana to set up special police stations to check power theft

Chandigarh, Feb 4 (PTI) Haryana Chief Minister BhupinderSingh Hooda today approved the proposal for setting up ofeight special police stations to check theft of power andcanal water in the state.

This was decided at a meeting held under the chairmanshipof State Irrigation Minister Ajay Singh Yadav here today.

Yadav said the Chief Minister had sanctioned the post of356 police personnel including officers to meet theneed of staff of special police stations.

The Irrigation minister said the eight police stationswould be set up at Kurukshetra, Panipat, Rohtak, Yamuna Nagar,Rewari, Hissar, Sirsa and Jind to ensure supply of water tothe fields and to check the pilferage of power sector.
