DM orders lodging FIR against BDO,2 others in IAY controversy

Munger, Feb 4 (PTI) Munger district magistrate PremSingh Meena today ordered lodging an FIR against the thenBlock Development Officer (BDO) of Dharhara block and twogovernment employees for their alleged role in allotment ofhouses under Indira Avas Yojana (IAY) in an arbitrary manner,official sources said.

Meena directed the district development commissioner(DDC) Vipin Kumar to lodge an FIR against the then BDO KaushalKisalay, Lal Babu Marandi (clerk) and Abhinandan Kumar(computer operator) for their role in irregularities in theallotment of houses to the people under the BPL, the sourcessaid.

The Munger district magistrate had earlier ordered aprobe by the DDC into the complaints of irregularities in theallotment of houses under IAY in Azimganj, Itwa and Mahagamapanchayats by the local people, they said.

The charges against the BDO and others were found tobe true during an enquiry, the sources said.

The Commissioner, Munger division, Lallan Singh hadalso received similar complaints about arbitrary allotment ofhouses under IAY in these panchayats and had himself foundirregularities during inspection, the sources said.
