BA student found hanging in Delhi college

New Delhi, Feb 4 (PTI) A 21-year-old BA student wasfound dead under mysterious circumstances in a college innorth-west Delhi this afternoon with his family alleging thathe was murdered and hanged by the family of girl with whom hehad a relationship.

Mohd Amir Malik, a resident of Khajuri Khas and a secondyear degree student, was found hanging by his friends in roomno 207 of Satyawati College in Ashok Vihar at around 3 PM, asenior police official said.

"He was found hanging from a fan on a plastic rope in theroom. He is a student of morning shift," the official said.

Pankaj, a friend of the victim, informed Malik''s fatherNasir Ahmed that he was found hanging following which heinformed the police and requested them not to bring down thebody before they reached the spot.

"The body was brought down at around 6:15 pm," theofficial said.

The family alleged he was murdered and hanged by thefamily of a girl with whom he had a relationship.

"Earlier, the girl''s family had filed a complaint againstmy son. But later police dropped it after the girl gave astatement in favour of my son," Ahmad alleged.

After this, he alleged, the girl''s family had threatenedthem to murder his son.

The official said if the family has any doubts, theyshould approach police with a complaint.

Some family members also indulged in protest when mediapersons were not allowed inside the college campus.
