Advani flays dynastic rule in Cong

Belgaum (Karna), Feb 4 (PTI) Senior BJP leader L KAdvani today took a dig at the Congress for ''perpetuating''dynastic rule.

"Mahatma Gandhiji became president of the Congressparty only once. But now, member of only one family iscontinuing to head that party," Advani said in an apparentreference to the Nehru family.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating anauditorium and ''Kumbhabishekam'' of the Universal Temple atRamakrishna Ashram here, he said Swami Vivekananda and Gandhidreamt of progressive India, but unfortunately that has nothappened.

"Let us not be under impression that we are becomingsuper power," Advani cautioned.

Referring to the controversy triggered by his remarkson Mohammad Ali Jinnah, he said, "When I made reference toJinnah''s speech, it became a big controversial issue.

"I only quoted Jinnah''s words that Hindus go to templeand Muslims to Masjid for prayers and now let us consider themall equal."

Advani suggested a full length feature film be made onVivekananda in English, Hindi and other languages and recalledthe services rendered by Sister Nivedita.

Advani later visited ''Veer Soudha'', a monument builtin memory of Gandhi, and had a glimpse of photographs of 1924Congress session held in this city held under thepresidentship of Gandhi.

Advani also said there was no change in NDA''s demandfor a JPC probe into 2G spectrum, CWG and Adarsh Society scamsand a meeting would held in Delhi on February eight to discussand decide on future plans to adopted during the budgetsession of Parliament.

When mediapersons sought his reaction on developmentsconcerning his party government in Karnataka, where ChiefMinister B S Yeddyurappa himself faced allegations ofcorruption, Advani said, "It is for the BJP party heads tothink about it." PTI COR BH MSR RA BN
