Six persons arrested with explosives

Berhampur (Orissa), Feb 3 (PTI) Six persons werearrested and huge quantities of explosives seized by thepolice from different places in Ganjam district today forillegally storing and transaction of these materials, policesaid.

While around 900 detonators, 50 kg ammonium nitrate,32 gelatine sticks and 400 meters of fuse wire were seizedfrom the house of Kora Sethi at Ankuli in the town, around 100detonators, 50 kg ammonium nitrate were seized from a car nearGokarneswar under Digapahandi police station.

"We have arrested six persons in this connection," thepolice said.

Kora, the main accused, claimed he had kept these tosupply to the quarries near the town. "Investigation is inprogress," said inspector in-charge (Baidyanath Pur) policeDipak Mishra.
