Shimla, Feb 3 (PTI) The mid and lower hills ofHimachal Pradesh had some respite today from the biting coldwave conditions as day temperatures rose by few notches in thestate.
Capital Shimla recorded a warm night with the minimumtemperature rising to 9.8 deg C, 8.4 degree above normal whilethe maximum temperature touched 19.6 deg C, 10.5 degree abovenormal.
Night temperature also rose at Palampur and Nahanwhich recorded 9 deg C and 7 deg C, respectively.
Mandi recorded a maximum temperature of 25.6 deg C,followed by Solan at 24.8 deg C, Una at 24.2 deg C, Nahan at21.3 deg C, Dharamshala at 20.6 deg C and Bhuntar at 20.1 degC.
Kalpa in tribal Kinnaur district recorded a high of9.4 degree, three degree above normal.
While the day temperatures stayed three to 10.5 degreeabove normal, the minimum temperatures were close to normalexcept in Shimla and Palampur.
Bhunter was coldest in the mid-hills during the nightwith a low of 2.5 deg C, followed by Sundernagar 3.6 deg C,Solan and Mandi at 4.5 deg C each, Dharamsala at 4.7 deg C andUna at 4.9 degree C.
The local MeT office has predicted rain or snow in midand higher hills during the next 24 hours.
