Nitish asks officials to extend cooperation to Nalanda Univ.
Patna, Feb 4 (PTI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumartoday asked the officials to extend cooperation to the NalandaInternational University authorities to set up infrastructurefor commencement of the academic activities there from 2012academic session, official sources said.
He was presiding over a high level meeting with theheads of the human resoures, forest, science and technology,land revenue and industry departments, to review the progressabout infrastructure at the proposed internationaluniversity, the sources said.
The Nalanda university vice-chancellor Gopa Sabarbal,Nalanda district magistrate Sanjay Kumar Agrawal and thedevelopment commissioner K.C. Saha were also present at themeeting.
The Nalanda university vice-chancellor, while briefingKumar, expressed satisfaction with the progress with theinfrastructure at the proposed university and exudedconfidence that the academic activities there will start from2012 academic session.
Meanwhile, the Nalanada district magistrate handedover mutation and possession papers of 446 acres'' land to theNalanda university vice-chancellor to clear the decks for thesetting up of the international university, the sources added.
